Ms. Lenora Lanette Fair was born on September 29th, 1962, to the parentage of Rev. Jimmy Fair and Frankie McGraw Fair in Shelby County, Alabama.
Lenora was affectionately known as “Sweet Pea” by her family and close friends, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Coosa Valley Missionary Baptist Church, Vincent, Alabama. She received her formal education in the Shelby County School System and became a 1980 graduate of Vincent High School, Vincent, Alabama. Later in life, “Sweet Pea” relocated to Gadsden, Alabama, and worshiped and united with Antioch Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Larry Weathers. “Sweet Pea” loved fellowshipping with her church family and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She found joy in preparing food for her fellow church members and loved ones.
Along Sweet Pea’s life’s journey she enjoyed outings with her classmates. She was very outspoken, and had a kind, loving spirit. During sport seasons you could often hear her cheering for her grandchildren, from the stands. She loved supporting her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling on family vacations, spending holidays with loved ones and cooking.
On December 20th, 2021 “Sweet Pea” departed this walk of life, under the care of UAB Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frankie M. Fair and Rev. Jimmy Fair, sisters, Geraldine Stone Riggins, and Charlene Fair, brothers, Kenneth Fair and Craig Fair, daughter in law, Mariama Koroma Fair, nephew, Rodney Posey and great nephew, Brandon McMorris.
Sweet Pea’s love will forever be cherished by her loving daughter, Kandyce Fair of Gadsden, AL; three sons, Kerri Fair of Vincent, AL, Kendall Fair of Decatur, AL, and Kory Fair of Gadsden, AL; a special son, Derrell (Erika) Jackson of Huntsville, AL; a special daughter, Sherrika Garrett of Alpine, AL; twelve grandchildren, Ty Bell, Kalea Norris, Kellen Lathon, Nora Lathan, Charolet Lathon, Keyonna Russell, Kantrell Russell, Kelis Russell, Kyah Williams, Isaiah Koroma, Kendall Fair II, and Mariah Fair; two sisters, Mae Kidd and Juanita Fair both of Vincent, AL; two brothers, Victor (Belinda) Fair of Childersburg, AL, and Ricky Fair of Vincent, AL; six nieces, Stephanie Y. (Obie) Norris, Ane’ Stone (Joel) Watkins, Michelle Stone, Darlene (James) Stone - Whitehead, Pebbles Smith and Tiffany Kidd; six nephews, Vernon Kidd, Hugh Kidd, Stuart Stone, Bryant Fair, Kenneth Fair, Jr., and Rodney Terrell Brown; Aunt, Betty Jean Chapman; special cousins, Rose Chapman, Lisa Chapman, Priscilla Chapman, Alberta Chapman and Jeff Chapman; thirteen great nieces, fifteen great nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
