Linda Mae Coleman

Sylacauga, Alabama - Linda Mae Coleman was born on July 1, 1959, in Childersburg, Alabama, to the late Granville Coleman and Carrie Bell Battle Coleman. She was raised in a loving family and carried those values with her throughout her life.

Linda attended B.B. Comer Memorial High School in Sylacauga, Alabama. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a devoted Christian. She was a faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Childersburg, Alabama, and later attended New Life Outreach until her health began to fail. Her faith remained strong, and she found comfort and strength in her spiritual walk.

Linda was a dedicated and hardworking woman who retired from Blue Bell after many years of service. She was known for her kind heart, quiet strength, and love for her family.

On March 26, 2026, Linda Mae Coleman peacefully departed this earthly life while under the care of Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Granville and Carrie Coleman; three sisters, Rebecca Ann Nix, Jacqueline Coleman, and Emma Swain; and one brother, Johnny Battle.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving daughters: Laquella (Tarrus) Garrett of Morrow, Ohio; Tammi Hale of Macon, Georgia; and Dana Hale of Sylacauga, Alabama. She is also survived by her siblings: Mary Lois Vincent of Montgomery, Alabama; Patricia (Roger) Bryant, Charlie (Angie) Coleman, Geraldine (Donald) Nix, Larry (Nyline) Coleman, Brenda (Randy) Hamilton, and Laverne (Samuel) Wheeler, all of Sylacauga, Alabama; Terry (Wanda) Coleman of Clarksville, Tennessee; Carolyn (Maurice) Wilson of Anniston, Alabama; and Derrick Coleman of Sylacauga, Alabama.

Linda’s legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Darius Hale, Tiesha Garrett, Alexis Russell, Jasmine Garrett-Stringfellow, Raiquon Russell, and Tarrus Garrett, Jr., along with a host of great-grandchildren who brought her much joy.

She also leaves to cherish her memory two uncles: Early Battle of Sylacauga, Alabama, and Pearly (Louise) Battle of Childersburg, Alabama; one aunt, Betty (Lawrence) Calhoun of Alpine, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
