Lucille M. Harvey earthly journey began on March 10, 1950 to the parentage of the late E.W. and Ella Mae Oliver McCain in Talladega County, Alabama.
At an early age, Lucille, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Hollins Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Hollins, Alabama.
As a youth, Lucille, received her early education at Bunker Hill School, Ashland Middle School and Lineville High School. She was a dedicated employee at Avondale Mill for 15 years.
Along Lucille life’s journey, she met and united in Holy Matrimony to Melvin Tommy Harvey, to this union four children were born.
Lucille’s love for people and Gospel Quartet Music never allowed her to meet a stranger. She enjoyed promoting Gospel Quartet Programs and doing Fundraisers for various events in the Talladega County and surrounding areas. She was the founder of the group, The Gospel Voices of Hollins, Alabama.
On April 20, 2021, Lucille, departed this walk of life under the care of Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin T. Harvey, her parents, Mr. E.W. and Ella Mae McCain, her sister, Dorothy M. Vincent; and two brothers, Edgar McCain and Fred McCain.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two loving daughters, Shirley (Darnell) Howard of Augusta, Ga, Yolanda (Adrion) Lowe of Childersburg, AL; two loving sons, Melvin (Tonya) Harvey and Marcus Harvey all of Sylacauga, AL; two sisters, Mulene McCain and Arnetha McCain of Hollins, AL; three brothers, David Earl McCain of Kellyton, AL, Bernard McCain, and James Vincent of Sylacauga, AL; four sister -in-laws, Archie Jean McCain of Hollins, AL; Christine Tate, Doris McGraw, and Pauline Harvey all of Cleveland, OH. two brother -in-laws, Willie James (Francis) Harvey of Bessemer, AL and John (Elnora) Harvey of Cleveland, OH. One aunt, Ada Smoot of Goodwater, AL; 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, special friend, Naomi Oden, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
