Lynwood Terry Welch

Lynwood Terry Welch was born on March 17, 1956 in Sylacauga, Alabama to the parents of John Henry Welch, Sr. and Amanda Johnson Welch who both preceded him in death. 

At an early age Lynwood was baptized and accepted Christ as his personal Lord and savior at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he was currently still a member up to his departure. 

Lynwood was a dedicated employee with Avondale Mills, Inc. for over 15 years.

In 1975, Lynwood met the love of life Joyce Welch, they united in Holy Matrimony and were blessed to be the parents of two beautiful children, Stacey Dexter and Kenderick Welch. 

Lynwood departed this walk of life on August 16, 2024 under the care of Grandview Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama, surrounded and supported by his family.  He was preceded in death by his son, Kenderick Welch, father, John H. Welch, Sr., mother, Amanda Welch, brother, John Henry Welch, Jr., niece, Glona Wood, and nephew, Terrance Welch.       

His love will forever be remembered by his daughter, Stacey Dexter of New York; two sons, Coris Cook and Gavin Cook of Sylacauga, AL; his sisters, Willie Mae Rivers of Ohio, Diane Dixon of Ohio, Mary Welch, and Tonette Welch both of Sylacauga, AL; one uncle, George Johnson of Talladega, AL; two grandchildren, Tanouia and Devon both of Texas; two great grandchildren; four nephews, Derrick Welch, Jeremy Welch, Joe Welch, and Kenneth Pope; many nieces and four special nieces, Kristie Cook, Torrie Funderburg, DeAndra Funderburg, Jessica Jones and Jamara Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
