Childersburg, Alabama - On February 19, 1953, to the late Mr. Odell Jackson, Sr. and the late Mrs. Lillie Bell Jackson were blessed with a precious gift from God: a baby girl named Maebell (Jackson) Hart, born in Shelby County, Alabama.
Maebell was a native of the Vincent/Harpersville community and received her formal education in the Shelby County School System, graduating with the class of 1972 from Vincent Middle/High School.
She dedicated many years to caring for elderly while employed at the King’s Ranch and Home Health. In 1996, she began working at Vulcan Materials in Pelham, Alabama, where she remained until her retirement in 2006. Maebell had a passion for children and a deep love for her family. To know her was to love her. She cherished cooking and baking, and family and friends often asked her to prepare cakes or pies for holidays.
Maebell united with Evangel Temple, where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She later transferred her membership to Southside Baptist Church in Talladega, Alabama under the late Dr. Arnold Smith, serving on the kitchen Committee until she left. In March 2009, she joined Joyful Noise A.O.H. Church of God in Sylacauga, Alabama, under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Johnnie L. Woods, Jr. and Mother Elder Yalanda Woods. Mother Hart actively participated on the kitchen staff, in the Mother’s Ministry, and as a member of the Senior Choir.
On Monday, December 29, 2025, Maebell Hart entered into eternal rest at Grandview Medical Center, in Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Odell Jackson, Sr. and Lillie Bell Jackson, as well as her grandparents and brothers Odell Jackson, Jr., and Peter Jackson.
Her love will forever be remembered by her devoted sons, Glavin (Rachel) Jackson of Sylacauga, AL:, Marcus (Jennifer) Jackson of Vincent, AL, and Johnny Jackson (Rell) of Childersburg, AL; five grandchildren, Equashia, McKal, Fantasia, Xzodyous, and Heaven. A loving and devoted sister, Dianne Jackson of Childersburg, AL, and a loving and devoted brother, James Jackson. One aunt, Mrs. Mae Bradford of Harpersville, AL and two sister in laws, Billie Sue Jackson of Harpersville, AL, and Gwendolyn Jackson of Childersburg, AL; a host of nieces, Comerly, Jeneika, Nyeshia, Samoria, Ty’Teona, Ny’Keria, Kaomi; nephews, Octavian, Giovanni, Jamal, Latavius, Giovanni, Jr., Antonio, Jr., and other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life for Maebell (Jackson) Hart, age 72, will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 1:00PM at Joyful Noise A.O.H. Church of God, Sylacauga, Alabama. Bishop Dr. Johnny L. Woods, Jr., Eulogist. Interment will commence in the Harpersville Memorial Cemetery, Harpersville, Alabama. Public Viewing will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, 1:00PM to 7:00PM, family hour 6:00PM to 7:00PM at Community Funeral Home.
