Ms. Maggie Lee Swain Evans was born on May 11th, 1939, to the parentage of Alonzo Duncan and Lillian Swain in Talladega County, Alabama.
Ms. Evan accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Childersburg, Alabama. She received her formal education in the Talladega County School System and graduated at Phyllis Wheatley High School, Childersburg, Alabama.
Ms. Evans was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to many that associated with her. She was an Employee with Princeton Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, as a nurse for 30 years. Later on in life she served as a home health care provider.
Ms. Evans departed this walk of life on February 7th, 2022, under the care of Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Legulia Nix, mother, Lillian Swain, father, Alonzo Duncan, sons, Ricky Evans, and Roosevelt Snipes, sister, Betty Ann Swain, brothers, Robert Swain, Palmer Duncan, Alonzo Leonard, and Curtis Dates.
Her love will forever be cherished by her loving daughter, Janet Evans of Childersburg, AL; four brothers, Theodoer (Ted) Swain of Childersburg, AL, Elonzo Duncan, Walter Duncan, and Leonard Duncan all of Flint, MI; three grandchildren, Raven Evans of Birmingham, AL, Brittany Evans of Fultondale, AL, and Albari Evans of Birmingham, AL; four great grandchildren, J’Corion Johnson of Birmingham, AL, Tenaj Chatman of Birmingham, AL, Karsyn Hines of Fultondale, AL, and Kehlani Hammonds of Birmingham, AL; lifelong friends, Hattie Threatt and Juanita Woods both of Childersburg, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
