Sylacauga, Alabama - Makeva Marbury was born in Marion, Indiana on December 30, 1973. She was carried gently into Jesus’ arm on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, AL. We celebrate her overwhelming joy as she now worships God in his glorious presence in her last and heavenly home.

She stood and supported her husband as The First Lady at Walking in Faith Ministries, Talladega, AL where she was greatly loved in 2019. Makeva married the love of her life, Dexter Dion Marbury in July 1992. The two were each other’s lifelong companions, prayer warriors, and friends. They were blessed with a beautiful family that shared their love and strength. Makeva became a stay-at-home mom in which she enjoyed so much. She loved her family. She enjoyed watching her TV shows, reading the bible, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had enormous charm and a great sense of humor.
Makeva was the kind of person who would give her all to anyone in need. She took care of everyone. Makeva’s life was fulfilling with so much joy. She was the shining light of humbleness with a beautiful smile inside and out, and a soft-spoken voice. She was certainly a true treasure with a heart of gold. She faced every trial and tribulation with grace and without one complaint. She always put her faith in God and had confidence that he would fulfill his promises.
