Marie Chancellor Malone

Childersburg, Alabama - Marie Chancellor Malone, affectionately known as Maree, was born on February 18, 1946, in Shelby County, Alabama. She entered eternal rest on January 19, 2026, at Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, Alabama.

Marie received her education at Columbiana High School. At an early age, she united with Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served for many years as a devoted deaconess and a cherished member of the choir. Her love for God and dedication to her church family were evident throughout her life.

In 1963, Marie was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Robert Malone, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and commitment. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a caring grandmother, a supportive sister, and a loyal friend. Marie was known for her kind heart and helping spirit—always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Marie was employed at Childersburg High School, where she worked faithfully as a custodian until her retirement. She took pride in her work and in serving others in her community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred “Jack” Chancellor and Lue Edna Cargle-Chancellor; two sons, Tommy Earl Malone and Darrell Wayne Malone; sisters, Annie May Thomas, Yvonnia Chancellor, and Georgia Ann Baker; and brothers, Tommy “Clay” Chancellor, Denson Chancellor, and Fred Chancellor, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving husband, Robert Malone of Childersburg, Alabama; sons, David (Sandra) Malone of Sumter, South Carolina, Steven Malone of Sylacauga, Alabama, and Corey Malone of Childersburg, Alabama; daughters, Sarah Baker of Sterrett, Alabama, and Angesa Twymon of Childersburg, Alabama; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; two sisters, Brenda Faye Keith and Betty Ann Chancellor, both of New Orleans, Louisiana; her mother-in-law, Sarah Miles of Childersburg, Alabama; brother-in-law, Spencer Wilson of Childersburg, Alabama; sister-in-law, Sadie Mae Malone of Childersburg, Alabama; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Marie’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Celebration of life for Marie Chancellor Malone, age 79, will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 11:00AM at Community Funeral Home Chapel, Sylacauga, Alabama.  Pastor Robert L. Russell, Eulogist.  Interment will commence in the Lilly Rhoden | Enon Baptist Church Cemetery, Childersburg, Alabama.  Public Viewing will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 1:00PM to 7:00PM, at Community Funeral Home.
