Marilyn Beatrice Tilley

Childersburg, Alabama - Mrs. Marilyn Beatrice Tilley earthly journey began on May 10, 1968 in Sylacauga, Alabama.  She was the beloved daughter to Mr. John Smoot and the late Doris Spencer Smoot. Mrs. Tilley departed this walk of life on February 11, 2025 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

At a young age, Marilyn accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.  For 32 years, Marilyn served as a member of the Move of God Bibleway Deliverance Tabernacle in Alpine, Alabama under the leadership of Apostle Prezell Lane. Later she began worshipping with Destiny Mission in Alpine, Alabama. 

Marilyn received her formal education and graduated at Childersburg High School in Childersburg, Alabama. Shortly after graduating she was employed with Taco Bell Restaurant in Childersburg, Alabama for 25 years. 

Along Marilyn’s life journey she met and united in Holy Matrimony to the late Danny Tom Tilley on January 13, 1990.  While the late Danny T. Tilley was out working, she was home mothering their 12 children.  Teaching them to always be strong and never give up against all odds. With all of her resources, she gave her children the best life she could possibly give.  Later in life she was able to begin to live life and travel the world. All the traveling brought her much joy and freedom. 

As she travels onward to that city of God, she will be reunited with her husband, Danny Tom Tilley, daughter, Mariah Monique Tilley, mother, Doris Smoot, grandmother, Evie Hill, and brother, Chancey Spencer.

Marilyn’s beacon of light will continue to shine on through the lives of those she loved and those who loved her; loving father, John Smoot; five daughters, Melissa Smoot, Katrina (Tyrone) Adams, Lydia (Steven) Borden, Mary Tilley, and Maya Tilley; Six sons, Johnny (Tereka) Smoot, Alex Smoot, Daniel (Natasha) Tilley, Timothy Tilley, Christopher Tilley, and Philip Tilley; mother in law, Billie E. Tilley; three sisters, Darlene (Willie) McElrath, Lanette (John) Faulkner, and Evelyn (James) McKinney; three brothers, Derrick Smoot, John Smoot, Jr., and Ike Smoot; two aunts, Rose Fowler, and Barbara Lawson; one uncle, Willie Smoot; twenty-seven grandchildren, Deasean, Devonte, Dontavius, Xariah, XyAndria, Harlem, Mary, Kaden, Kadence, Cameron, Jamar, Simon, Johnny, Jr., Cherish, Alex, Jr., Ethan, Antoine, Stanley, Ahava, Lael, Hayven, Kori, Ayden, Watkins, Kamori, Aysen, and Oceann; special friends, Lee Pointer and Samantha Garrett; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life for Marilyn Beatrice Tilley, age 56, will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 2:00PM at Evangel Temple Deliverance Center, Vincent, Alabama.  Apostle Prezell Lane, Eulogist.  Interment will commence in the Harpersville Memorial Cemetery, Harpersville, Alabama.  Public Viewing will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 1:00PM to 7:00PM at Community Funeral Home.
