Martha Ann “Mot” Grayson, born on March 18, 1956, in Sylacauga, Alabama, peacefully departed this life on October 23, 2025.
Martha accepted Christ at an early age and united with Union Baptist Church in Stewartville, Alabama. She received her education in the Sylacauga City School System and graduated from B.B. Comer Memorial High School.
Throughout her life, Martha worked faithfully at Dairy Queen, where she was known for her humor, strong spirit, and ability to brighten any room.
Martha was truly one of a kind—someone to know. A people person through and through, she had a personality that left lasting impressions. She loved her music, loved to cook, and she always had something to say—often with a sharp wit that made others laugh. Her honesty ran deep, and though she was known to “tell it like it is,” she did so with love. Above all, Martha cherished her family and friends, and she made sure they felt that love in her own unique way.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Grayson; mother, Lillian Dark; brothers, Robert Grayson, Roy Lee Grayson, and Bobbie Grayson; and sisters, Belah Jackson and Johnnie Mae Grayson.
Her precious memories will forever be cherished by her loving children: Teresa Ann Grayson, Shanalda Ann Grayson, Christopher Dale Grayson, and Thomas Anthony Grayson; her sister, Camiller Faith (Grayson) Swain; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Martha’s life was full of love, laughter, strength, and honesty. Her legacy will live on through those she touched, inspired, and loved.
