Alpine, Alabama - Marvin E. Foster earthly journey began on May 26, 1955 in Talladega County, Alabama to the beloved parents of John D. Foster and Myrtis Moore. Affectionately known as “Mark - Iceberg” departed this walk of life on May 14, 2025 under the care of Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama.
Mr. Foster received his education in the Talladega County School System and graduated with honors at B.B. Comer Memorial High School. He continued his education and pursued an associate degree in electronics at Central Alabama Community College (CACC).
Mr. Foster accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age in life and later became a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama.
Mr. Foster enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17. He received a national defense service medal, good conduct medal—2D Award, Army service ribbon, NCO Professional development ribbon and overseas service ribbon. He was ranked and served as Staff Sergeant. He was honorably discharged on March 31, 1982.
After serving in the army, he worked with numerous companies, Country Club, George Marble for 20 years, Russell Mills, Construction Worker in Chelsea, AL, Nemak for 2 years, and Fleetwood where he retired with many years of service.
Along Marvin’s life’s journey he met and united in Holy Matrimony to Drucilla Samuels.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Linda Foster, and Angel Brown, and brother, Larry Foster. His love will be cherished by his loving wife, Drucilla Foster of Alpine, AL; three daughters, Markett Foster of Sylacauga, AL, Takeema (Charmel) Jones of Opelika, AL, and Reshonda (Deundreaus) Sparks of Sylacauga, AL; son, Marvin (Paris) Foster of Calera, AL; brother, John (Melody) Foster of Ohio; sister, Joyce Steveson of Sylacauga, AL; grandchildren, Alexis, Mercedes, Malik, Kahlia, Chyna, Caleb, Isaiah, Elijah, and Malachi; uncle, Sonny Patterson of Demopolis, AL; brother in laws, Henry Samuels, and Bernard (Shanda) Samuels; two sister in laws, Marnetta (Allen) Glenn, and Orentha (Shemeka) Samuels; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
