Melvis Lamont Oden Obituary

Mr. Melvis Lamont Oden was born to Mr. John Keith II and Mrs. Bettye J. Oden on May 10th, 1965 in Talladega, Alabama. At an early age Melvis, confessed Christ and united with Tallassahatchie Missionary Baptist Church, Childersburg, Alabama.

Melvis was a military brat and his education expanded from Europe through parts of the United States. In his later years he took technical courses in computers.  As a young man, Melvis was a skillful worker, doing carpentry and fork lifting.  He later determined he had a passion for detailing cars.

On Tuesday, October 4th, 2022, Melvis went home to his eternal resting place while under the care of Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, Florida.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Bettye J. Oden, son, Kavaris Oden, and daughter, Ebony Monique Clarke.

His love will forever be cherished by a loving spouse, Barbara Williford of Davenport, FL; a loving father, Bobby Lee (Carolyn) Oden of Childersburg, AL; biological father, John (Ruby) Keith, II, of Childersburg, AL; brothers, Robby (Stephanie) Oden of Kokomo, IN, John Keith, III of Eastaboga, AL, and Dexter Keith of Alpine, AL; one sister, Stephanie (Shannon) Caldwell of Huntsville, AL; two step brothers, Mandral (Dana) Blackmon of Concord, NC and Clinton Blakmon, Jr. of Homewood, AL; nine grandchildren, and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; special mention includes, Marcellus Cook - a friend that stick closer than a brother; God son, Ty’on Clarke; Tony Turner and Lisa Oden; and a host of other relatives and friends.
