He departed this walk of life on January 12, 2020 at Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, AL. 

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Angelette G. Ashley of Sycamore, AL; three loving children, Quinsheta A.(Harold)  Powell of Talladega, AL; Leresa Garrett of Smyrna, GA; and Michael J.(Crystal) Ashley, Jr. of Sylacauga, AL; two brothers, Nathaniel (Rosa) Ashley of Talladega, AL; and Luther (Brenda) Ashley, Jr. of Clinton, MD; six sisters, Bernice Swain of Talladega, AL; Paulette (Oscar) Barclay of Alpine, AL; Barbara (Arthur) Lawler of Anniston, AL; Annie (Faron) Young of Kissimmee, FL; Cynthia (Gary) Brown and Jaunita Noble of Alpine, AL; six loving grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
