Sylacauga, Alabama - Mrs. Mildred Taylor Lee was born on April 8, 1933, in Childersburg, Alabama. She was the beloved daughter of Henry Taylor and Mary Mallory Taylor who both preceded her in death. Along her life’s journey she was affectionately known as Big Ma.
Mrs. Lee accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior early in life, and her faith led her to be baptized at Enon Missionary Baptist Church, Childersburg, Alabama, where she served as a dedicated member. She received her education in Childersburg, Alabama and attended Phyllis Wheatley High School. She graduated with the class of 1953 and has been a proud alumni of Phyllis Wheatley.
She was a mother to her children and Big Ma to everyone that came in contact with her. She had a green thumb and could make any plant, or anything grow. She was a lover of her plants. She had a passion for cooking and would offer a meal to anyone that was hungry. She had such a pure and kind heart. Her embrace was with so much unconditional love for everyone.
Mildred Taylor Lee accepted the Master’s call on July 22, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. In heaven, she will reunite with her parents, husband, siblings, two sons, and one grandson.
Her love will forever be cherished by her loving family and friends.
