Minister Anita Louise Powell earthly journey began on January 17, 1954, in Talladega County, Alabama to the parents of Armelia Powell and Mack McNeal Jr. At an early age Minister Anita, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with St. Thomas United Methodist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama. Later in life she became a life-long member of Jesus Saves Deliverance Temple, Sylacauga, Alabama.
Minister Anita departed this walk of life on October 17th, 2023, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her mother, Armelia Powell, father, Mack McNeal Jr., and daughter Runtura Lana’ Powell.
Minister Anita received her education in the Sylacauga City School System, where she attended East Highland High School, Sylacauga, Alabama. After High School she began her working career in the environmental services industry, employed with Kimberly Clark.
Minister Anita’s love will forever be cherished by her loving children, Anthony (Roshell) Powell of Athens, AL, Conita (Maurice) Gamble of Sylacauga, AL, and Stephanie Powell of Sylacauga, AL; one sister, Sara McCain of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Christopher (Angle) Powell of Sylacauga, AL, Tyra Johnson-Williams of Tacoma, WA, Joshua Gamble of Birmingham, AL, Jarnisha (Deonta) Taylor of Calera, AL, Jailyn Powell of Houston, TX, Jacarius Gamble of Sylacauga, AL, Janae Powell of Athens, AL and Jajuan Powell of Athens, AL; ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
