Gadsden, Alabama - Missionary Elizabeth Ann Thomas was born on August 22, 1952, in Shelby County, Alabama to the parents of Prime Thomas and Fannie Jane Wallace.
Ms. Thomas accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and later united with Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ. She was a dedicated and faithful member and served on the building and grounds committee and served with the nursing home ministry.
Ms. Thomas received her formal education in the Shelby County School System and graduated at Vincent High School with the class of 1971. She later furthered her education at Gadsden State where she received several academic certificates.
She was a dedicated employee with Lyon HR where she worked as a HR Assistant for many years upon her retirement.
On March 1, 2024, Ms. Thomas departed this walk of life, under the care of Riverview Regional Medical Center, Gadsden, Alabama. In Heaven, Ms. Thomas will reunite with her parents, Prime Thomas and Fannie Jane Wallace, siblings, Tommie Thomas, Willie Dee Thomas, Isiah Middleton, Wallace Thomas, Marion Thomas and Ozie Thomas.
Her love will forever be remembered by her loving sisters, Willie J. (Charles) Bridges of Cleveland, OH, Linda G. (LeRoy) Vanderhorst and Jacqueline Davis both of New Jersey; one brother, Jimmy (Dorthena) Thomas of Harpersville, AL; two sister in laws, Roberta Thomas of Gadsden, AL and Mary Bradford Thomas of Harpersville, AL; special nieces, Stephanie Glasco, Tanicea Thomas, Rickie Jean Penn, Marnita Williams, Winifred Jackson, and Renee Thomas; special nephews, Shone Thomas, Darrin Thomas, Michael Cook, and Juan Glasco; special friends, Kimberly Woods, and Doris Woods; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life for Missionary Elizabeth Ann Thomas, age 71, will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 1:00PM at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Harpersville, Alabama. Elder David L. Alexander, Sr. eulogist. Interment will commence in the Harpersville Memorial Cemetery, Harpersville, Alabama. Public Viewing will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, 1:00PM to 7:00PM at Community Funeral Home.
