Sylacauga, Alabama - Officer Jeremy DeWayne Wilson earthly journey began on March 16, 1983, in Sylacauga, Alabama to the parents of Sam Wilson, Jr. and Sarah Ruth Wallace Wilson. Jeremy was affectionately known as “DJ” by family and friends.
At the age of 12 years old “DJ” accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Friendship Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama, where he was baptized.
“DJ” received his formal education in the Talladega County School System and graduated from Fayetteville High School, Fayetteville, Alabama.
“DJ” had a passion to follow his father’s footsteps by serving and protecting. At the age of 20, DJ was employed with the Talladega County Sheriff Department and attended training at Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy, in Jacksonville, Alabama. DJ served with the Sheriff department for 15 years. He currently was serving with Ohatchee Police Department. He worked as a Security Officer at the Social Security Administration in Birmingham, Alabama with Security Engineers for many years.
“DJ” departed this life on March 7, 2024, in Sylacauga, Alabama. In Heaven, DJ will reunite with his father, Sam Wilson, Jr., his grandparents, T.S. and Mary Etta Wallace, Sam and Olma May Wilson, and brother, Roy Wilson.
His love will forever be cherished by his loving mother, Sarah Wilson of Sylacauga, AL; loving sister, Yvonne(Jihad) Wilson-Kumasi of Sylacauga, AL; niece, Iman Abdur Rahim of Sylacauga, AL; nephew, Bill (Terri) Kirkland of Sylacauga, AL; great nephew, Billy Kirkland, Jr. of Sylacauga, AL; great niece, Saje Kirkland of Sylacauga, AL; uncle, Ulysses Wilson of Sylacauga, AL; two aunts, Jean (Cecil) Frombry of Pell City, AL and Bobbie King of Sylacauga, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life for Officer Jeremy DeWayne Wilson, age 40, will be held on March 16, 2024, at 1:00PM at Community Funeral Home Chapel, Sylacauga, Alabama. Pastor Antwan Crowe, Eulogist. Interment will commence in the Wilson Family Cemetery, Sylacauga, Alabama. Public Viewing will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, 1:00PM to 7:00PM at Community Funeral Home.
