Mrs. Perrilla Mae Sawyer Glenn earthly journey began June 18th, 1940, to the late Deacon Dennis (Dank) and Ruth (Cook) Sawyer in Talladega County, Alabama. At an early age she confessed Christ and united with Corinth Baptist Church and later united with Mountain Home Baptist Church in Sycamore, Alabama, where she served as a Deaconess, President of the Senior Choir, Usher, Nurse’s Guild, Sunday School Teacher for the Adult Class and Missionary Teacher for Mountain Home and Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Childersburg, Alabama, for many years. Mrs. Glenn had a passion for cooking, baking, canning, sewing, crocheting, singing, and caring for others.
Mrs. Glenn received her formal education in the Talladega County School system and attended Robert Russa Moton in Sycamore, Alabama. She also attended Lloyd Noland Community College in Birmingham, Alabama, where she received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed by Craddock Health Center for over 43 years.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late McGrady (Grady) Gaddis. She later married Deacon Leon Glenn on July 8th, 1989, who preceded her in death also her brothers, Bobby (Bob) Sawyer and two other younger brothers who passed as infants.
On Tuesday, December 13th, 2022, Mrs. Glenn departed this walk of life at her residence. She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Jacqueline Gaddis of Montgomery, AL, Joycelyn (Charlie) Evans of Sylacauga, AL, and Yola (David) Kelly of Jacksonville, AL; one son, Dennis (Shannon) Gaddis of Mililani, HI; four step children, Shirley Looney, Gertie Greenlea, Richard Glenn all of Sylacauga, AL, and Samuel (Yvonne) Glenn of Sycamore, AL; four grandchildren, Mario Gaddis, Tekoya Evans, Marquis (Kimi) Gaddis of Colorado Springs, CO, and Rahnard Gaddis of Mililani, HI; twelve step grandchildren, one great granddaughter, Ella Gaddis; one uncle, James Player; one brother in law, Howard Gaddis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
