Phillis Ann Moore

Phillis Ann Moore's earthly journey began on August 22nd, 1963 in Surginer, Alabama, Marengo County to the parents of Billy and Ada Moore and Azzie Ree Humphrey.  At an early age Phillis accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and rededicated her life to Christ in 2019 and united with North Shelby Baptist Church, Birmingham, Alabama.  She was affectionately known as Sally by her family and friends. 

Phillis received her formal education in the Marengo County School System and graduated at Marengo High School.  During high school, Phillis was a member of the National Honors Society, Beta Club, and the Marengo High School Choir.  Phillis furthered her education at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and majored in Business Administration.  During college she was a dean’s list honoree and a member of the Business Club. 

Phillis was an accomplished business administrator at several establishments in Tuscan, Arizona and in the Birmingham, Alabama area.  Additionally, she was well known throughout the Chelsea community for her outstanding customer service and community engagement at McDonald’s in Chelsea.

Phillis departed this walk of life on December 4th, 2022, under the care of Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Ada Moore, Mother Azzie Ree Humphrey, and brothers, Willie and Billy J. Moore. 

Her love will forever be cherished by one devoted daughter, Makella (Anthony) Moore Harris of McCalla, AL; four loving sons, Jerrimy Juwaun Woods of Tuscan, AZ, Kyle LaMarr Woods of Hampton, VA, Phillip Woods of Tuscan, AZ, and Patrick LaMarr Cook, Jr. of Tuscan, AZ; two loving sisters, Dorothy (Elton) Datcher of Harpersville, AL, and LaTanya (Reginald) Humphrey-Thomas of Detroit, MI; one brother, Larnard Humphrey of Detroit, MI; and a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind to cherish one devoted best friend, Sharron Baker of Birmingham, AL.
