Raymond Tremayne (Luv Jones) Jones

Sylacauga, Alabama - A precious one from us is gone, a voice we love is still, and a place is vacant in our home that can never be filled.  On May 18, 1975, William Jones and Gwendolyn Gibert Jones welcomed their handsome baby boy, Raymond Tremayne Jones in Boston, Massachusetts.  He departed this walk of life on December 2, 2024, at his residence in Sylacauga, Alabama. 

Affectionately known as “Luv Jones” accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.  He united his faith and became a member of Mount Nebo Baptist Church, Equality, Alabama. He was a product and received his education in Coosa County, Alabama at Coosa Central High School.

After receiving his education, he was employed with Avondale Mills, Inc. for many years.  He later was employed with Budweiser in Harpersville, Alabama, for many years.  He was currently a dedicated employee with Nemak of Alabama. 

There’s really only one way to define what Raymond’s life was.  The true definition of a loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and so much more.  Raymond never met a stranger.  His smile was always on his face.  He would give you his last and try to come up with some more just to make sure you had enough.  There will never be another Raymond Tremayne Jones, but we all will strive with everything in us to be half the person he was and always will be.  He was more than the best father to his children; he was the best friend to them and so many more.  His name and love will continue to be alive through his children, family and friends. Raymond Tremayne Jones was “True Love”. 

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gwendolyn Jones, grandparents, Beatrice and Watson Jones, Robbie and Raymond Jones, cousin, Savannah Gilbert, uncles, Sonny Lee Jones Stevie Jones, Walter Jones, and George Jones, aunts, Pamela Jones, Ruth Murchison, and Mildred Jones McFadden.

Raymond’s love will be cherished by his best friend and mother of his children, Tawanda McElrath; loving children, Biancee Jones, Turkessa Jones, TiAShanti Jones, Tizeay Stone, and Menes Moon; one brother, Eric Jones; one sister, Cassie Jones; four grandchildren, Kaiden Jones, Kaldynce Jones, Taeshanti Crowe, and Honesty Stone; two nieces, Jahzara Jones, and Bella Jones; three nephews, Labron Sharpe, Davon Sharpe and Terrell McElrath; three uncles, Rodney (Michelle) Gilbert, Kevin (Carolyn) Gilbert, and Willie Gilbert; aunts, Cheryl (Marion) Johnson, and Donna (Reginald) Brown; three special cousins, Courtney Gilbert, Shaunta Gilbert, and Rapheale Gilbert; one Godson, Rodney Deonte Gilbert; and a host of other relatives and friends.   

Celebration of life and Memorial Service for Raymond Tremayne Jones, age 49, will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 1:00PM at Community Funeral Home Chapel, Sylacauga, Alabama.  Pastor Carlos Woodward, Eulogist.
