Reginald (Peanut) Dates

Reginald Dates was born on July 22, 1962 to the parentage of James L. Dates and Mollie R. Swain Dates in Talladega County, Alabama.  Reginald was affectionately known as Peanut by his family and friends.  He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Tallassahatchie Missionary Baptist Church, Childersburg, Alabama.

Peanut received his formal education in the Talladega County School System and graduated from Childersburg High School.   He had a passion for auto mechanics and driving race cars. 

Peanut departed this walk of life on August 11, 2022 at his residence in Childersburg, Alabama.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. Dates and Mollie R. Swain Dates. 

His love will forever be cherished by his children, Reggy (Kristy) Dates, and Brooklyn (Theo) Miller; three brothers, Jerome (Frances) Dates, Alan Dates, and Travis (Terreaser) Dates; four aunts, Christine Nettles, Annie (Nate) Brock, Georgia Dates, and Diane Funderburg; two uncles, Clarence (Gracie) Dates and Lee (Hambone) Dates; and a host of grandkids, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
