Deacon Robert Lee McGraw journey began on April 4th, 1952 to the parentage of the late JB McGraw and the late Nannie Mae McGraw in Alpine, Alabama.
At an early age, Robert, a beloved husband, father, and brother accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with New Maryland Baptist Church, Alpine, Alabama, where he served faithfully as a Deacon, member of the Scholarship Committee and sang in the Male Choir.
As a child, Robert, was educated in the Talladega County School system and graduated with the class of 1970 at Winterboro High School. After completing his education he served one year in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1973. Robert, later became a dedicated employee with Kimberly Clark for over 20 years until his retirement in 2001.
Along Robert’s life’s journey, he met and united in Holy Matrimony with Mary Jo Keith on November 15, 1994, to this beautiful union one son was born, Roderick McGraw. Robert was very affectionate and compassionate with it when it came to his family and friends. He was a quiet man who kept to himself, but truly loved his wife and his children. He was very family oriented and was lovingly referred to as Pa Pa by his grandchildren.
Robert accepted the master call and departed from this walk of life on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, while under the care of Select Specialty Hospital, Birmingham, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters and ex-wife, Cynthia Swain Threatt.
His memories will always be remembered and cherished by his loving wife of 26 years, Mary Jo; three daughters, Tracey (Charles) Howard, Huntsville, Alabama; Montina (Darrius) Craig, Birmingham, Alabama; Robin Parker, Calera, Alabama; two sons, Robert Tavaris (Taundria) McGraw, Talladega, Alabama; Roderick (Meredith) McGraw, Childersburg, Alabama. Grandchildren: Jeylon, Natalia, Grant, Aja, Chanzy, and Cameron. Two sisters: Nell Morris, Talladega, Alabama; Carol (Terry) Huntley , Sylacauga, Alabama. One brother: Jackie McGraw, Sylacauga, Alabama. A host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
