Sylacauga, Alabama - Rosie Mae Ingram Cook earthly journey began on May 24, 1912, in a small town called Goodwater, Alabama. She was the beloved daughter of the late Louis McKinney and the late Georgiann Ingram. Mrs. Cook was blessed to be one of the oldest living citizens of Sylacauga, Alabama, reaching the age of 112.
Mrs. Cook became a member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, at a young age under the leadership of the late Dr. N.C. Shepard. Mrs. Cook was active in the ministry until her health declined. She was a part of the church choir for more than 60 years. Mrs. Cook was recognized as the oldest member of the church.
Mrs. Cook was married to the late K.C. Cook. They were blessed with three children. Mrs. Cook was a member of the Recreational Golden Keys Club, Faithful Worker’s Missionary Society Club, and Senior Citizen Member Club. She was honored to receive a proclamation from the Mayor of the City of Sylacauga on her 100th birthday.
Mrs. Cook departed this walk of life on February 8, 2025, at her residence in Sylacauga, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, K.C. Cook, son, Ralph Cook, and daughter, Earnestine Cook.
Her love will forever be cherished by her loving daughter, Ruth Ann Moore; grandson, Sean Moore; granddaughter, Ray Gillum; great grandson, Alexander E. Pettway; great granddaughter, Alexanderia Pettway; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life for Mrs. Rosie Mae Cook, age 112, will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 11:00AM at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama. Pastor Carlos Woodward, eulogist. Interment will commence in the Sylacauga Cemetery, Sylacauga, Alabama. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, 1:00PM to 7:00PM at Community Funeral Home.
