Mr. Roy Chester Borden the beloved son of Frank Borden, Jr., and Miller E. Pruitt-Borden was born on January 12, 1942, in Talladega County, Alabama. Throughout Mr. Borden’s life journey he was affectionately known as Banny by family and friends.
Roy Chester received Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sylacauga, Alabama. Later he united his faith with the City of Truth Church.
Roy Chester was a faithful employee with Imerys Rock Quarry for 48 years. He was very proud and took great pride in his job. He also enjoyed his hobby of gardening and loved to share his harvest with the community.
Along Roy Chester life’s journey he met the love of his life and united in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Ella Roston.
On the 18th of April, Roy Chester departed this walk of life under the care of Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama. In Heaven, he was welcomed by his mother, Miller E. Pruitt-Borden, father, Frank Borden, Jr., nine brothers, and one sister.
His love will forever be remembered by his loving wife, Ella Borden; sons, Derrick Borden, Eric Borden, Chris Wilson, and Darron Wilson; one daughter, Roynechia Davis; step children, Brian Grayson, Tray Gamble, and Syreeta Gamble; one brother, Terry Borden; and a host of sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life for Mr. Roy Chester (Banny) Borden, age 82, will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1:00PM at St. John Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Sylacauga, Alabama. Bishop Roy Davis, Eulogist. Interment will commence in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Sylacauga, Alabama. Public Viewing will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 1:00PM to 7:00PM at Community Funeral Home.
