Ms. Ruth Ola Norwood was born to the late Lonnie E. Norwood and the late Lonnie Mae Adams Norwood on August 5, 1946 in Marengo County, Alabama.
Ruth, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Freewill Church of God in Christ, Harpersville, Alabama. Ruth later became a Missionary and sung in the state choir with Freewill Church of God in Christ. She was known for her powerful voice and she didn’t mind praising God wherever she went.
Ruth departed this walk of life on April 7, 2021 under the care of Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie E. Norwood, Lonnie Mae Norwood, Ice James Greene, brothers and sisters.
Her love and memories will always be cherished and remembered by her loving daughter, Shanita Norwood of Huntsville, AL; three brothers, Pastor Earnest (Grace) Norwood of Childersburg, AL, Richard (Cynthia) Norwood of Huntsville, AL, Elvis (Rita) Mann of Childersburg, AL; five sisters, Jackie (Bobby Spears) Pelmer of Harpersville, AL, Susie Telisnor of Pine Hill, AL, Bessie (James) Mile of Dorchester, MA, Fannie Greene of Milton, MA, Rosa (Johnny) Lockett of Sweetwater, AL; three grandchildren, Rakeem (Arika) Norwood, Trevon Norwood, and Phillip McCrimmon, Jr.; five great grandchildren; two uncles, Bishop David Norwood of Harpersville, AL, and William (Debra) Adams of Mobile, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
