Ruth Carol Rollinson

Ruth Rollinson, 97, died on September 20, 2023.  She was born in Altoona, PA and lived in Childersburg for 41 years before her death.  Ruth was active in the education community of Talladega County, teaching all ages, from tutoring small children to teaching chemistry at Childersburg High School. She began her adult life as a chemist at the Institute of Paper Chemistry, in Appleton WI.

Ruth’s death was preceded by her husband, Sam Rollinson, and a son, Selby Rollinson.  She is survived by four sons (Lon, Martin, Matthew and James) and their families, and by her daughter-in-law Sarail and family.

A memorial service/celebration of life followed by lunch will be held on Sept.30 at 11am at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (4887 Valleydale Road, Birmingham, Al).  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Ruth’s memory be sent to Lutheran Disaster Response or similar organization of your choosing.
