Sallie Mae Pope

Ms. Sallie Mae Maxwell Pope was born on March 18, 1946 to the late Loyd and Lela Maxwell in Coosa County, Alabama.  She entered into eternal rest on June 19, 2025 under the care of Grandview Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her two sons, Sal Maxwell and Rory Pope, three sisters, Bettye Maxwell, Annie Lee Pope, and Mary Sterns, two brothers, Sim Maxwell and Cecil Maxwell.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories two sons, Tarvis Pope and Larry Pope; five daughters, Shawn (James) Heath, DeAnna Pope, Lucretia Pope, Sherell Pope, and Chatarica Pope; a host of grandchildren, and great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Anderson, and Marie Reynolds; one brother, Franklin Maxwell; a long time best friend, Judith Cardwell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
