Sally Mae Lawler Obituary

Sally Mae Lawler, age 78, of Sycamore, Alabama, peacefully transitioned from this life on July 4, 2025.  Born on August 9, 1946, in Camp Hill, Alabama, she was the cherished daughter of the late Lamar and Louise Swain.

A proud graduate of East Highland High School in Sylacauga, Alabama.  Sally was a woman of faith and a devoted member of Mountain Home Baptist Church in Sycamore.  On August 29, 1964, she was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, the late William E. Lawler.  Together they built a home rooted in love, faith, and family.

Sally was a dedicated wife and mother who poured her heart in caring for those she loved.  Her home was always filled with the aroma of delicious meals, the sound of her favorite music, and the warmth of her laughter.  She found joy in dancing, watching her beloved TV shows, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Lawler; her son, Tony Lawler; her parents, Lamar and Louise Swain; her sisters, Farris Spencer, Caren “Fatso” Miller, and Carolyn “CJ” Miller, and her brother, Edward Swain.

Sally leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved son, Rodrick E. Lawler of Sycamore, AL; her loving sister, Virginia Ousley of Talladega, AL; her devoted brother, Mitchell (Ella) Swain of Birmingham, AL; and her sister-in-law, Carol Patterson of Childersburg, AL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Keyunda (Damarious) Lawler of Sycamore, AL, LaTasha Lawler of Chicago, IL, Jada Lawler of Talladega, AL, Kaylain Lawler, Destiny Lawler, Christian Lawler, and Ciara Lawler; her niece, Dawn "Nee Nee" Harris of Georgia; nephews, Darnell Spencer of Talladega, AL, and Sam Patterson of Sycamore, AL; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Zai'miya "MiMi" Hale and Zaedyn "ZaeZae" Lawler.

Her loving spirit will also be remembered by her dear friends, Maxine Smoot, Michael Estelle, Dwight Borden, and a host of extended family members and friends.

Sally Mae Lawler's legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
