Savaria Hollinquest Obituary

Savaria was born in Elmore County on March 12, 1946. She is the first born child of the late Bessie Lois Hollinquest Austin and Matthew Hollinquest.

She graduate from East Highland High School Class of 1966.

She received Christ at an early age and attended the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Sylacauga Alabama under Reverend McIntrye.
She  later joined the All Nation Fellowship Church Of God in Birmingham Alabama under Overseer Angie and Pastor Leona Martin were she served faithfully in various capacities as Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent, Bible Study Teacher, Missionary Board, Junior Mother Board Choir Member, Witness Team and a host of other duties. Savaria was very instrumental in introducing her family to Christ.

She was a long time supporter and volunteer of the March of Dimes, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the health of mothers and babies. She worked  for the Sylacauga Hospital and in various other hospitality roles.

Savaria retired from her job and assumed the role as primary caregiver for both her mother and brother. She also served as a surrogate mother for many church members, friends, relatives and neighborhood kids.

Savaria later joined the Jesus Saves Deliverance Temple under the leadership of  her brother, Bishop Robert L Hollinquest Sr where she served faithfully until her health failed and was admitted as a longterm resident of the Arlington Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Birmingham Alabama. In 2018, Savaria was nominated and represented the facility as Ms Arlington.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bessie Lois Hollinquest Austin and Matthew Hollinquest, a brother, Lacey Hollinquest and two sisters, Bessie McElrath and Sarah Hollinquest.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories,  six brothers, James Hollinquest Sr of Houston, Texas, Robert Hollinquest, Sr (Corlis) of Sylacauga, Alabama, Willie Hollinquest (Era) of Birmingham, Alabama, Randy Hollinquest of Bessemer, Alabama, Cecil Hollinquest (Kristi) and Andrew Gilbert of Sylacauga, Alabama and a sister Brenda Cumbie (Little General) of Forestdale, Alabama along with a host of nieces, nephews,relatives and friends.
