Harpersville, Alabama - Mrs. Shirley Ann Fluker Kelley was born on August 27, 1940, in Shelby County, Alabama, to the late Icy Mae and James Lee Ferguson. She was a woman of faith, strength, and devotion whose life reflected love for God, family, and community.
At an early age, Shirley confessed to Christ and was baptized, uniting with Scott Grove Baptist Church in Vincent, Alabama. Later in life, she joined Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Harpersville, Alabama, where she remained a faithful and dedicated member until God called her home on December 30, 2025. Her commitment to her church and her walk with Christ were evident in her service, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Amos “Jack” Webb Kelley; her son, David Kelley; her parents, Icy Mae and James Lee Ferguson; her sister, Gloria Jean McGregor; and her aunt, Louise Fluker.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her loving children: Phyllis (Jerry) Norwood, Maurice (Shirley) Kelley, Patrick B. Kelley, Jeffrey E. Kelley, Kimberley J. Kelley, all of Harpersville, Alabama, and Beverley K. Fluker of Talladega, Alabama. She is also survived by her siblings: Bernice Morris of Alpine, Alabama; Marilyn Jones of Harpersville, Alabama; Fennie (Bill) Fluker of Sylacauga, Alabama; Linda (Marvin) Hall, Billy (Janet) Ferguson, Johnny Ferguson, and Mary Threatt, all of Harpersville, Alabama.
Shirley’s life was further enriched by her bonus daughters, Cathline “Kat” Chancellor and Belinda Fluker; bonus sons, Richard (Tesa) Benjamin, Eddie Swain, and Earnest Norwood; her sister-in-law, Catherine Hall; and her devoted best friend, Dot Thomas. She was a proud and loving grandmother to eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Mrs. Kelley will be remembered for her gentle spirit, deep faith, and the love she poured into her family and all who knew her. Her legacy of devotion, resilience, and grace will live on in the hearts of her children, family, and friends.
Celebration of life for Shirley Ann Kelley, age 85, will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00AM at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Harpersville, Alabama. Pastor Clarence C. Carter, Eulogist. Interment will commence in the Harpersville Memorial Cemetery, Harpersville, Alabama. Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, 1:00PM to 7:00PM, at Community Funeral Home.
