Tempie Luverne Austin

Sylacauga, AL - Tempie Luverne Austin-McElrath, 77, was born on September 1, 1941 to the late Tom Isom and Mary Alice Powell in Elmore, AL.

At an early age Ms. Austin joined Bethlehem Baptist Church, Equality, AL.  She attended Walburg Trade School in Wetumpka, AL. She worked many years house keeping industry, until her health began to fail. 

She united in Holy Matrimony to the late Roosevelt Austin, Jr. and later united in holy matrimony to Marvin McElrath in 2005.

Ms. Austin is preceded in death by her parents, Tom Isom and Mary Alice Powell; one daughter, Mary J. Brisker; one son, Robert Austin; one brother, Donald Zeigler;

She departed this walk of life on January 8, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving husband, Marvin McElrath; four children, William (Joyce) Austin, David Austin, Mary Moon, JoAnn (Conelius) Floyd; two brothers, Robert L. Zeigler and Lawrence Zeigler, Jr. thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one son-in-law, Charles Brisker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
