Harpersville, Alabama - Terry Lee Threatt was born on June 15, 1946, to the late Thomas and Ruth Threatt in Vincent, Alabama.
Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a cherished uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Snake”. Terry was also a loyal and trusted friend, known for his warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Throughout his life, Terry touched countless lives with his kindness, strength, and steadfast sense of purpose. Whether offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or words of encouragement, he left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Terry was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ruth Threatt; father, Thomas Threatt; sisters, Nadine Middleton and Margie Johnson; and brothers, William Threatt and Eddie Threatt.
Born and raised in Vincent, Terry graduated from Shelby County Training School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he established a successful career at Kimberly-Clark. Terry had a deep and abiding love for his wife, family, and church. He faithfully served as a dedicated
Sunday School teacher and a devoted Co-Chairman of the Deacon Board. Having confessed Christ at an early age, he remained steadfast in his faith throughout his life. Terry deeply loved his church and was committed to doing what was right in service to it and its members.
Outside of work, Terry found joy in the simple things—fishing, hunting, and gardening. He appreciated every moment and lived with a spirit of gratitude. One of his favorite sayings was, “I thank the LORD for letting me see the sun come up, because I may not see the sun going down.” These words captured the essence of his faith, humility, and thankful heart.
Terry leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Mary Threatt; daughter, Trina Threatt (Birmingham); sons, Terry Christopher Threatt (Seleana) and Sherman Datcher (Maria); grandchildren, Taylor Daniels (Mobile) and Layla Threatt (Childersburg); siblings, Rufus (Sarah, deceased) Threatt, Roxie (Leo, deceased) Mallory, Frances (Martin) Dates, Nettie (Bernard) Hightower, Jimmy (Patricia) Threatt, Arthur (Altharis) Threatt, Mark (Wanda) Threatt, Larry (Margaret) Threatt, Gary (Rena) Threatt, and Sandra (Tony) Porch; two devoted sister in-laws Doris Threatt and Carlene Threatt; one uncle, Richard (Catherine) Fair; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
