Ms. Tracy Yolanda Cook's earthly journey began on July 23, 1971 in Talladega, Alabama to the proud parents of Noble Lee Cook, Sr. and Essie Ruth Garrett Cook. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Kingston Baptist Church, Alpine, Alabama. Tracy was a former choir member at Kingston.
Tracy received her formal education in the Talladega County School System and graduated with the class of 1989 at Winterboro High School. She furthered her education and attended Central Alabama Community College (CACC) and received her associate degree in Computerized Information Systems. And later enrolled and attended University of Alabama, where she became an avid “Roll Tide” fan.
Tracy was a lover of sports. Her favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Philadelphia Eagles. She was Intune with how the games were supposed to be played to win. Tracy had a kind, loving heart with a quiet personality and a great smile. Wonderful spirit of giving and enjoyed living life to the fullest and spending time at the beach. Most of all she loved listening to all types of Gospel music and Prayer time with the Lord.
Tracy was a dedicated employee with Family Dollar in Childersburg, Alabama where she served as Manager until her retirement. She continued her working career and was employed with T.J. Max, Dirt Cheap, Citi Trends, and Talladega County Board of Education, where she was a dedicated substitute.
Tracy departed this earthly life on Monday, April 17, 2023 under the care of Citizens Baptist Medical Center, Talladega, Alabama. Reuniting with her father, Noble Lee Cook, Sr., grandparents, Obie Garrett, Sr., Lula Mae Garrett, Sina Cook, and Para Lee Cook.
Her love will forever be cherished by her loving mother, Essie R. Cook of Alpine, AL; one brother, Noble L. Cook, Jr. of Alpine, AL; three sisters, Theresa F. Cook, Cassandra Cook, and Ladedrice (Derrick) Hunter all of Alpine, AL; one niece, Olivia J. Hunter of Alpine, AL; five aunts, Leola (Willie) Barclay, Mary Alice (Charlie) Swain, Maggie Garrett, Bobbie Garrett, and Addie Cook; two uncles, Emmett (Jean) Garrett, Sr. and Davis (Eva) Garrett; special cousin, Darlene Nicks and a host of other relatives and friends.
