Mrs. Virginia Yowe Abrams journey began on February 23, 1936 to the parentage of the late Robert Yowe, Sr. and the late Katie Prowell Yowe in Marengo County, Alabama.
At an early age, Virginia, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Baker’s Grove Baptist Church, Vincent, Alabama, where she was apart of the church choir, kitchen committee, and deaconess ministry. She later became the mother of the church.
Along Virginia’s life’s journey, she met and united in Holy Matrimony to the late Joe Lewis Abrams, to this union five children were born. Virginia was a Spinner and dedicated employee with Avondale Mills Corp. in Bon Air, Alabama, until her retirement in 1979.
On Sunday, May 9, 2021 Virginia, departed her walk of life at her residence in Harpersville, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, one daughter, three brothers, and one sister.
Her love and precious memories will always be remembered and cherished by her daughter, Marjorie (John) Abrams McGraw of Harpersville, AL; two sons, David (Frieda) Abrams of Columbiana, AL; and William (Angela) Abrams of Birmingham, AL; one sister, Dorothy Jemison of Birmingham, AL; twenty one grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren, one daughter in law, Kay Abrams of Columbiana, AL; one sister in law, Carolyn P. Yowe of Childersburg, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
