Wanda Faye Joiner Abrams Obituary

T H E  L I F E

Wanda Faye Joiner Abrams was born on March 6, 1949 to August Joiner, Sr. and Hattie Penn Joiner in Mobile, Alabama. She gained her Heavenly wings on October 9, 2024, surrounded by love and family.

Throughout her life, she attended church in Plateau, Alabama at Yorktown Missionary Baptist Church. She had a love for teaching and studying the Bible in Sunday School. Her faith in God was unwavering. She received her formative education in the Mobile County Public Schools, and later furthered her secondary education at Alabama A&M University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

She was a devoted special education teacher in both public and residential school environments. She blended the role of teacher and family together, being the first teacher to both her own children and grandchildren. Family was a big part of her life, raising her children and grandchildren brought her great joy.

She united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Willie L. Abrams, Jr. during her life’s journey. They were blessed to be the parents of Jai and Manchez.
