Wanda Gail Jones - Rogers

Sylacauga, Alabama - Wanda Gail Rogers, affectionately known by many as a kind and gentle soul, was born on April 29, 1955, in Sylacauga, Alabama, to the late James Pete Jones and Ruth Wilson Jones. She was the fourth of nine children, growing up in a home filled with love, faith, and family.

Wanda accepted Christ at an early age and united with Mountain Home Baptist Church in Sycamore, Alabama. In later years, she became a faithful member of Emmanuel Caring Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Randy Jones, where she continued her walk with the Lord.

A graduate of Sylacauga High School, Wanda lived a life of hard work and dedication. Throughout the years, she was employed with Coosa Sports Wear, Tyson Foods, MDK White Knight, Town Inn, and several sewing plants, where she honed her skills and built lasting friendships.

Wanda will be remembered for her kind heart and loving spirit. She was content with life’s simple blessings and found joy in extending her arms not only in love but in selfless deeds. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and spending time with her family, always exemplifying compassion and care for those around her.

On September 13, 2025, Wanda peacefully departed this walk of life at her residence in Sylacauga, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Pete and Ruth Wilson Jones, and her sister, Pamela K. Jones.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: three devoted daughters, Juakia (Mike) Wilson, Vonquaina Rogers, and Latoya (Roderick) Stallworth; her siblings, Linda Walker, Ina Ruth Jones, Tammy Leah Jones, James (Ethel) Jones, Melvin Kenneth (Robin) Jones, Randy Warren (Tameka) Jones, and Joel Lynn (Valencia) Jones; seven precious grandchildren, Quentarius Brookins, Mikkendra Brookins, Juakera Brookins, Aryell Wilson, Jamiya Pickett, Jamey Pickett, Timothy Stallworth, and Tabitha Stallworth; along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her deeply.

Wanda’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Celebration of life for Wanda Gail Jones - Rogers, age 70, will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 12:00PM at Mountain Home Baptist Church, Sycamore, Alabama. Pastor Randy Jones, Eulogist. Interment will commence in the Corinth Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Sylacauga, Alabama. Public viewing will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 1:00PM to 7:00PM at Community Funeral Home.
