William Pope

Mr. William Pope's earthly journey began on June 5th, 1953, in Childersburg, Alabama to the parentage of Willie James Pope and Ernestine Cook Chancellor.

William accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Pine Grove Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama.  He received his formal education in the Talladega County School System and attended Phyllis Wheatley High School, Childersburg, Alabama.

William departed this walk of life on January 12th, 2022, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie James Pope and Ernestine Cook Chancellor, wife, Lorene Cohill Pope, granddaughter, Ashia D. Cohill, brothers, Danny Pope and Earnest Pope, sister, Mary Lee Taul.

William’s love will forever be cherished by his loving children, Leroy (Keena) Cohill of Birmingham, AL, Ella Cohill of Sylacauga, AL, Lorenda (Darryl) Cohill of Birmingham, AL, and Tracy (Curtis Taylor) Porch of Sylacauga, AL; one brother, John Willis of Childersburg, AL; three sisters, Willie Jo Cobb of Anniston, AL, Angel Pope and Rebecca Pope both of Sylacauga, AL; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
