William Earl Evans

Talladega, Alabama -  Mr. William Earl Evans earthly journey began on April 20, 1957 in Sylacauga, Alabama.  He was the beloved son to the late R.S. Walton and Laura Bell Evans who both preceded him in death.  At an early age William accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.

William received his formal education in the Sylacauga City School System, attending Mountain View and East Highland High School.  He later affiliated his faith with Next Level Worship Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and later New Hope Church in Talladega, Alabama.

William was employed with J. Craig Community Center in Sylacauga, Alabama, where he retired with many years of employment.  He was also employed with Phoenix Government Contract Company in Huntsville, Alabama where he retired with many years of employment.

Along William’s life’s journey he met and united in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Lacornia Wilkerson.  Their union was blessed with many years of love. 

William departed this walk of life on January 21, 2025 at his residence, surrounded by family and hospice.  He was preceded in death and will reunite with his parents, Laura Bell Evans and R.S. Walton and many other relatives.

His love will forever be remembered by his loving wife, Lacornia W. Evans; loving siblings, Mary Lee Walton (Terry Christian), Della Griffin, James (Mable) Williams, Larry Evans, Thomas Jefferson Evans, Michael Evans, and Vanzell Evans; uncles, William Walton, and Frank Walton; aunt, Eva Mae Walton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life for William Earl Evans, age 67, will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00AM at Community Funeral Home Chapel, Sylacauga, Alabama. Pastor Anthony McGregor, Eulogist.  Interment will commence in Harper Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Sylacauga, Alabama. Public Viewing will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 1:00PM to 7:00PM at Community Funeral Home.
