Willie Hugh Oden

Mr. Willie Hugh Oden was born on August 6, 1953 to the parentage of the late Mr. Ernest Oden, Sr. and the late Francis Elaine Barns in Sylacauga, Alabama.

Willie was educated in the Sylacauga City School System where he graduated from Sylacauga High School, with the class of 1972.  Shortly after graduating Willie was employed with Vulcan (Parker) on September 3, 1985 and retired on October 10, 2016. While employed at Vulcan, he worked in the Shipping & Receiving department as an Clerk.

Willie departed this walk of life on December 1, 2023 at his residence in Sylacauga, Alabama.  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his sisters, Gloria Jean Willingham and Vanessa Ann Russ.

His love will forever be cherished by his two loving daughters, Artavia (Halbert) Reynolds of Chelsea, AL, and Shawanda (Frederick) Jones of Chelsea, AL; one loving son, Joshua Oden of Birmingham, AL; nine grandchildren, Kiara Pope, Khalil Pope, Amayiah Reynolds, Tesean Jones, Joslyn Oden, Aiden Oden, Adrien Oden, Kaleb Oden, and Jaxson Oden; brothers, Jeffrey Dale Barnes, Rex L. Barnes, Norman (Fran) Oden, Ernest (Brenda) Oden, Clay (Lesa) Oden, Marvin Oden, Lamar (Anither) Oden, Anthony (Marie) Oden, And Michael (Cheryl) Brownfield; five sisters, Naomi Oden, Linda Ajim, Monica Oden - Williams, Kathy (Otis) Payton, and S. Rena Oden; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
