Willie Lee Thomason’s earthly journey began on November 5, 1945 in Talladega County, Alabama to the parents of Glenn Thomason and Lela Mae Hart. Mr. Thomason accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama.
Willie served sometime in the United States Army and was employed with Morietta Harrell and Thomas Marietta Quarry. He loved to fish, garden and be outdoors. He was an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide Football, and always quoted “I don’t care if Auburn plays Russia, I’d cheer for Russia.” He loved to entertain family and friends with jokes and tales of his encounter while exploring the woods, his upbringing and just life in general. He was known affectionately as “OG” by his daughter and those that knew and loved him. He could wear a hat like no other. He had a heart and soul of gold and was genuine and authentic always.
Along Willie’s life journey he met and united in Holy Matrimony to Nellie Mae Graham on April 1, 1971.0
