Harpersville, Alabama - Mrs. Willie Mae Datcher was born November 28, 1926, to the parentage of Nellie Jackson and Willie Jackson in Marengo County, Alabama.

Mrs. Willie Mae Datcher was educated at Baker’s Grove. She was also a member of Baker’s Grove Baptist Church where she served as a faithful choir member. Later, she united with Mt Olive Baptist Church where she was the oldest church member and faithful choir member.

Mrs. Willie Mae Datcher was a pillar to her family and to the community. She took time to help meet the needs of her community. Mrs. Datcher was a lovable mother and grandmother who’s love will be cherished forever.

Mrs. Willie Mae Datcher was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Jackson, her late husband, Yancy Datcher, sister, Fannie Sue Jackson, brother, Jack Jackson, sons, Jack Datcher, and Walter Datcher, daughter, Carolyn Datcher, grandson, George Datcher, great grandchildren, Adrian and Ashley Traylor, and other relatives and close friends.

On Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Saint Vincent Hospital, Pell City, Alabama, Mrs. Datcher departed this walk of life, to walk the streets paved with Gold.

Mrs. Willie Mae Datcher leaves to cherish her loving memories a loving son, James (Earlene) Datcher; two daughters, Ludie (James) McGregor, and Margaret (Larry) Threatt; two step-daughters, Ada (Warren) McGinnis, and Ruth Calhoun; one step-son, Hosey Datcher; 17 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; one nephew, Samuel Jackson; one step-sister, Ella Sue Hunter; and one niece, Vanessa Battles; and a host of other relatives and friends. Special Thanks to her caregivers: Mrs. Patie Wallace, Mrs. Lois Garret, Cheryl Fluker and Mrs. Linda Gaston.

Celebration of life for Mrs. Willie Mae Datcher, 97, will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at12:00 Noon at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Harpersville, Alabama. Pastor Clarence C. Carter, Eulogist.  Interment will commence in the Harpersville Memorial Cemetery, Harpersville, Alabama.  Public Viewing will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, 3:00PM to 7:00PM at Community Funeral Home.
